CONEXUS FOR UAM

Our Conexus technology makes ultrasonic welding possible for future Urban Air Mobility. Together with the Composite Technology Center, cross-industry opportunities and new mobility solutions are being created.

„UAM will change the mobility significantly within the next years.“

Urban Air Mobility - Sharing efficiency

The comprehensive lightweight cooperation with the Composite Technology Center (CTC) opens up new possibilities for smart and efficient lightweight construction. The aim is to identify, combine and develop lightweight technology approaches for UAM.

This cooperation opens up new perspectives for the development of lightweight yet robust structures that are crucial for the future of mobility.

A key aspect of this cooperation is the use of innovative joining technologies. These technologies aim not only to ensure high performance but also to contribute to better environmental balances and enable full automation. By using advanced joining techniques, materials can be processed more efficiently and sustainably, leading to a reduction in the ecological footprint.

Our Conexus technology plays a central role in this process. This technology has enabled the ultrasonic welding of two CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastics) plates. CFRP is known for its excellent mechanical properties and low weight, making it an ideal material for lightweight construction. The Conexus technology has demonstrated that ultrasonic welding is an effective method for joining CFRP plates without compromising the material properties. By combining these advanced technologies and approaches, we aim to further improve efficiency and sustainability in lightweight construction. The cooperation with CTC is an important step towards future-oriented and environmentally friendly mobility.
